Parkinson’s system proven viable

Working with Austin Health and Southern Health Procept undertook a feasibility study into the development of a low cost, accurate, wireless motion analysis system capable of providing long term monitoring of human movement in the hospital setting or in the community.
Procept worked with key stakeholders to define the requirements of the product and conceptually flesh-out the look and feel of the product through sketches and storyboarding to ensure it would be suitable for both clinical and in-home use.
We worked through the technical and commercial constraints and proposed a solution that balanced the level of functionality with the targeted manufacturing cost and project budget.
“The proposed solution is unique, fulfilling a need for analysis of patient’s movement outside the laboratory that is not currently being met with commercially available systems, which are either very expensive or involve considerable burden to patients,” Prof Mary Galea of Austin Health said.
“Procept has conducted the Feasibility Study using a methodical and highly consultative process, documentation and communications have been of a high standard.”
